Workout of the day: Tempo up to low threshold and sprints. Moving along in the periodization and beginning to increase the intensity. This is still a base building period and many athletes will need more volume at a lower intensity before moving on. Stretch of the day: Scissor hamstring stretch. Stand with one foot in front about two steps in front of the other, both feet with toes pointing forward. Bend forward, hinging from the hips, keeping back and legs straight. Feel a deep stretch in your forward leg. Bend forward as far as is comfortable and hold for several breaths before switching sides.
